Skittles

Have you ever eaten skittles? You know the candy with various flavors. When you pour them in your hand you see a sea of colors; all the same shape but still diverse in color and flavor. As I open my graphic designers bag of Skittles, there are only a few colors. Ironically none of those colors represent me. I am a bold, creative, funky, and ever so chic female graphic designer who was blessed to be adorned in a carmel case. In every aspect of this field I see wonderful designers but WHERE ARE MY GIRLS!! Well if you are a woman of color that eats, sleeps, and dreams in color 4Hue is for you. My mission is to link minority graphic designers and filmmakers with the rest of the creative universe to give us a voice. For many years as a graphic designer I struggle to find like minds that I can feed off and express my creativity in ways that only my culture would understand. This is a liaison for other like minds to share their vision, their views, their struggles, and their stories on being a creative minority woman in today’s society. I would like my fellow creative vessels to find inspiration and advice in every aspect of their creative endeavors. Each week I will introduce you to a new designer, film maker, photographer etc... In this blog I will display my trials and errors as a designer, wife, mother, business partner, and professor in hopes to display each part as a learning tool. I want other designer to share advice through their eyes, experience, and struggles in their day to day operations as well.
